MONO CARABLANCA (Cebus capucinos)

Estos monos en su mayor parte son de color negro con un contrastante pelaje crema amarillento sobre la cabeza, pecho y hombros, su cara es blanca. Son diurnos y arbóreos. el tamaño promedio del grupo es de 15 individuos, con un macho adulto de líder. Las hembras pueden llegar a tener un bebé cada 1.5 años, el cual se aferra a su madre durante los primeros 5 o 6 meses de vida.

El mono cara blanca es básicamente omnívoro, su principal alimento se compone de frutas e insectos, se ha reportado que alrededor del 20 % de los alimentos consumidos son de origen animal, 65% son frutos y un 15% partes vegetativas

Su pico de actividad alimentaria diaria va desde las 5 am hasta las 9 am y de las 3 pm a las 5 pm, consumen los frutos y retoños de alrededor de 7 plantas por día.
