CAOBILLA (Carapa guianensis)

Caobilla is a very important tree because of the wood, for all Central America and part of South America. It release the cortex to protect their self from paracits. Something interesting is that Their seeds are rounded and indiginas use it to make soaps. Also it feeds many mamals in the forest.

Caobilla es una especie de alto valor maderable en Costa Rica y Sur América. Tiene exfoliación en placas irregulares, libera su corteza para evitar que le crezcan parásitos como “mata palo”, algo muy impresionante es que la semilla es redonda y dispersada por roedores ( guatusa y tepezcuintle).

La semilla contiene saponina sustancia que se utiliza para producir jabón, por lo cual es de importancia industrial y maderable.
